I probably have more pictures of Lilly then any other living thing. (Besides my kids, of course!) Lilly as a puppy, Lilly with a frisbee, Lilly's first time swimming, Lilly as an akward teenager, Lilly leapin' and Lilly hoppin.' These photos show Lilly and her best-dog-friend-forever, Shela, having fun on Lilly's first trip to the beach. (Oh, and that's my husband, Dave, on the other end of Lilly's leash!)

This last photo, shows Lilly "praying" that mom will take off her leash so she can run wild and free on the beach. Mom was a little nervous, never having "trusted" Lilly off-leash. When we unhooked the clip, it took Lilly a few seconds to comprehend the freedom and what she could do with it. At the moment she "realized" she was truly free, she took off in a full mad run heading south on the shoreline. I looked at Dave and said "Do you think she'll run all the way to California?" Then we both looked towards Lilly, now just a tiny speck in the distance, and yelled at the top of our lungs "LILLY!!!!!!" And Lilly turned and ran straight at us, full speed, to which we both said "uh oh!" and prepared for the impact. Here's some photos of Lilly's gleeful freedom. Shela's also in some of these shots. She saw that Lilly was having some kind of crazy fun and wanted to join in, but quickly learned she just couldn't keep up. (sorry, the horizons aren't very straight in some of these shots. It was hard enough keeping Lilly within the camera frame at all!)
Shela's trying hard, but she just can't keep up with Lilly...
Lilly quickly learns "the power of a wave"...
Finally, one tired, but happy, dog!
